About Us – As Operations Executives
We’ve spent the last 20 years developing leaders both personally and professionally. During our career, we were challenged, believing we would be able to “change” anyone’s behavior and performance. We learned however, that we did not possess the power to change anyone if they did not want to grow and develop on their own.
What we did from there was, we began to recruit and retain the right people for our team. With the right people, comes passion and the ability to coach, educate and lead. You, like those many talented members of our team are all seeking one common goal… success!
Leadershipism was created to allow oneself to explore the world of the unknown and elevate their leadership abilities.
About Me – As a Human Resource Partner
I began my career in the Food and Beverage Industry over 34 years ago. I worked as a faced past dining room Supervisor at the early age of 16 and quickly advanced to the Food and Beverage Manager of a few quick service/full service establishments to the Director of Food and Beverage for over 20 different brands; Burger King, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, TCBY, Cinnabon, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Sam Adams Bar and Grille, and Cheers Bar and Grille just to name a few. After 15 years of working 12-hour days, weekends, holidays, and absolutely no work/life balance I decided to venture off into Human Resources for a more ‘normal’ lifestyle. Well, normal does not quite describe Human Resources in a food and beverage world. My days were just as long, my work/life balance was null and void but now I had children and I was marriage to juggle.
Like our Operations executives, most everything that I did was through trial and error. Although there are state specific laws that helped me stay compliant with day to day labor issues, there were limited/no available resources for day to day employee relations, how to have effective conversations, how to build trust, how to build a successful team, how to hold someone accountability/performance management, recruiting/selection/hiring the right people to be on our team and the endless battle of remaining the employer of choice.
However, there is something to be said about surrounding yourself with excellence. Hiring those people who believe in your mission, vision and values. Allowing creative juices to flow as we all try to achieve operational excellence. Partnering with Operations in a concerted effort to create a cultural environment that is attractive to inviting. Recognizing those who attribute to the Company’s success. There are so many moments of truth in a guests’ visit with us, it’s very important that we get it right. Getting it right starts with winning the hearts and heads of our team.
Getting it right through partnering with the Operations team to bring you Leadershipism!
Why Does Leadershipism Exist?
During our career, one of our biggest frustrations was the lack of restaurant resources available to us. We’ve spent most of our careers working diligently in pursuit of operational & Human Resource excellence through trial and error and learning from our mistakes. We’ve spent countless hours reading and researching various management and leadership articles, but we were unable to expand our knowledge and apply our learnings.
Collectively, we have coached and developed thousands of Supervisors, Managers, General Managers and Multi Unit Managers and one thing we had found in common was that most everyone stumbled in the same areas in their career growth progression. Most individuals learned from their mistakes and were solely taught standard operating procedures but were rarely taught how to lead people and make a difference.

Self Development is the Key to Success!
It is truly amazing; the average American only reads one book a year. This fact was shocking to us and we couldn’t help but think how advanced our Leadership skills would be in 2 years, 5 years, even 15 years from now if we read 1 book a month on this topic.
We are committed to investing our own knowledge and self-development to becoming an industry expert on leadership and restaurant success. We are now looking to share our knowledge with you to help you accelerate your careers and achieve work/life balance.
We are passionate about helping others and Leadershipism was created to assist anyone and everyone who is interested in growing.
